The hottest spot at fashion week is a beanbag chair that you can buy for $10,000

They have legume having a high fashion makeover.

Once confined to children’s break rooms and untidy day care centers, bean bag chairs became the epitome of cool at Bottega Veneta’s Milan Fashion Week show on Saturday.

The items were set out for celebrity guests to sit on during the show — but the haute couture house is also selling them online for up to $10,000.

According to the Bottega Veneta website, the “limited edition” chair and bean bag are available for pre-order, and fashionistas are already snapping up five figures to get their hands — and their behinds — on one.

Crafted from luxurious nappa leather, the chairs are designed in the shape of 15 different animals, including dogs, cats, birds and snakes, and are meant to “spark creativity, wonder and boundless imagination”.

Bottega Veneta creative director Matthieu Blazy told Vogue that the animal designs were inspired by the story of Noah’s ark.

“It was the box office idea: a joyful world with a sense of wonder, populated by friendly companions that make you smile and say ‘Wow,'” Blazy told the publication.

“Made entirely of leather, they sit low to the ground, so you get a different perspective when you sit on them,” he continued. “They are both cheerful and comfortable!”

A-listers attending fashion shows are usually forced to sit on uncomfortable benches, so the bean bag chairs may have been a sweet relief.

But some celebrities at the Bottega show still looked less than comfortable as they lounged in the front row.

Saltburn owner Jacob Elordi – who is 6ft-5 – had to stick his legs out as he sat in a low chair.

Meanwhile, Julianne Moore sat cross-legged in what looked like an “otter” of bean bags.

Bottega bean bags aim to complement the brand’s new clothing collection, “WOW!”

On the runway, fur-look clothing – including fringed headpieces and fringed brims – appeared alongside animal motifs.

Additionally, oversized suits also took over the catwalks, creating the illusion of a child playing dress-up in their parent’s wardrobe.
